Yeah, wanna say I have seen the Gutterpunx a few years back on the local stage at Warped Tour, good group if I recall correctly. To answer your question of where in the area...right now, Brighton. Was born in Lincoln Park and raised in Westland tho. As far as riots go, things have been pretty mild around here. Last riot I remember happening was when MSU won some championship...even then, that was in Lansing and not Detroit. I would say that murders are a bigger problem than riots. No matter what day ya turn on the evening news, chances are that there will be coverage about a murder that happened that day. Although I agree with ya wark, Devil's Night is great. They've been trying to put people out on the streets to deter the arsons...in my eyes,I'd rather let 'em burn down all the abandoned damn buildings...less crack houses.

It's still a cesspool. LoL Yep, live right down the street from "Mt." Brighton...try to avoid that section of town tho, too upper-middle class for me. Prefer my end of town full of workin class folk better.

Another fellow Detroiter, cool. I was born and raised in Redford. I was at one of those shows at Clutch Cargos few years back. Too bad you weren't at the State Theater Show in 96, it was better. Like you said, aside from the college towns, Detroit hasn't rioted in a long time.. All three Red Wing cups were celebrated in peace. If the Lions ever won the Super Bowl though, look out. Personally, I love the area and wouldn't ever want to move. I've heard of the gutterpunx but never seen them live. I heard they broke up though.

Yeah, woulda loved to see the show in 96. Only problem was that I wasn't really introduced to Social D until after the concert. Girl I worked with came in the day after the concert with a long sleeve skelly tee (she wasn't really a fan, but her dad was...musta been laundry day for her or somethin')...and that was how I was introduced. I ended up going to both the shows at Clutch Cargos tho to "make up for it". Liked the 2nd night better, got there early and claimed a space at the bar next to the stage. With a lil' flirting I was gettin free Labatts all night and not even having to run back to the bar
